MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE-GUNTER ANNEX, Ala. -- Led by Technical Lead, Rachel Wolff, an integrated team of experts from our Services Management, Operations, Maintenance, and Installations divisions, and our Air Force Materiel Command/A4 (AVLog) partners recently completed the migration and on-boarding of the Civil Engineering NexGen project into the BES Atlassian Toolset (BAT).

The migration consolidated the NexGen Atlassian instances and eliminated the additional license purchases that would have been required to maintain a unique NexGen instance of the tools if not migrated.

The migration included more than 100,000 work items including consolidation of data and reducing their overall number of projects from 29 to two. Moving to a standardized environment took their overall size of 54 GB of data down to seven GB. During this migration, the team revised seven workflows to better serve NexGen user day-to-day experience. Finally, 108 users were successfully onboarded to the BAT. This project was completed after a yearlong discovery effort culminating in a month of data cleansing and transfer effort.
