July 2024 marked a huge month for the Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Maintenance and Installation Systems Portfolio, (GBM), as the Field Maintenance Command and Control (FMxC2) Stand-up Team initiated the transition of the FMxC2 Integrated Program Office (IPO) to the Base Maintenance Product Line.

On July 3, 2024, leaders from the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center’s BES Directorate, Air Mobility Command (AMC), Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), and U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM)) signed the Transition Support Plan initiating transfer of FMxC2 from USTRANSCOM to BES.

GBM is partnered with AFMC/ Logistics, Civil Engineering, Force Protection and Nuclear Integration and AMC Installation to assemble an IPO maximizing functional engagement with the user community. This IPO will facilitate streamlined requirements input and rapid development cycles to deliver what the user needs when the user needs it.

FMxC2 currently provides a centralized maintenance database supporting 1,300 aircraft and 33,000 users in AMC, Air Education and Training Command, Pacific Air Forces, and U.S. Air Forces in Europe. FMxC2 also supports AMC and route missions for Mobility Air Force (MAF) assets deployed worldwide.

Paired with the Integrated Maintenance Database System, FMxC2s transfer will consolidate both the Combat Air Forces and MAF base-level maintenance systems to achieve Headquarters Air Force Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection vision of a Single Maintenance Information System.

The FMxC2 transition to GBM and IPO stand-up is expected to be completed by June 2025.
