MAXWELL AFB-GUNTER ANNEX, Ala. -- The Department of the Air Force Information Technology and Cyberpower (DAFITC) conference 2024 was held at the Renaissance Hotel and Spa, in Montgomery, Alabama from Aug. 26-28, 2024.
This year was the first time the conference was held for three full days. The theme was Reoptimizing IT & Cyber: Posturing the DAF for Great Power Competition.
Throughout the conference, Air Force peers along with private sector leaders in the Information Technology (IT) and cyber security field, examined the ever-changing ways in which big data and emerging cyber technologies are reshaping the landscape in which we live.
With over 4,600 attendees, the three-day event featured more than 180 training sessions that were held on diverse topics through four Breakout Training Tracks; Power Projection, Develop People, Generate Readiness, and Develop Capabilities to align with this year’s theme.
These sessions allowed attendees the opportunity to interact, collaborate, and engage with innovators working in similar fields.
Keynote speakers included Department of the Air Force Chief Information Officer, Venice Goodwine, a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES), Gen. Timothy D. Haugh,
commander, U.S. Cyber Command Director, National Security Agency/Chief, Central Security Service, as well as Lt. Gen. Leah Lauderback, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Cyber Effects Operations, and many others.
“The energy, collaboration, and connection to the city of Montgomery was electrifying,” said Department of the Air Force Chief Information Officer, Venice Goodwine, Dept. of the Air Force Chief Information Officer, and a member of the SES.
Additionally, the event included a tradeshow with over 200 vendor booths to facilitate collaboration and networking among industry professionals.
