Maj. Austin Myers assumed command of Detachment 5 (Det 5), Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), on June 12, 2025. The Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Directorate hosted the change of command.

Col. Chadwick Steipp, Deputy Commander, AFLCMC, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, presided over the ceremony, transferring command of Det 5 from outgoing commander Lt. Col. Madeleine Jensen to incoming commander, Maj. Myers.

During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Jensen received the Meritorious Service Medal for her outstanding service from Aug. 7, 2023, to June 11, 2025. During this period, she led the implementation of critical policies and oversaw the training, equipping, and readiness of 362 personnel spanning seven Air Force specialties within the BES and Cyber Networks Directorates, ensuring more than 90% efficiency in commander programs.

She now hands command to Maj. Myers, who previously served as the Executive Officer to former BES Program Executive Officer Richard Aldridge from 2022 to 2023.

“I’m fully committed to upholding the core values of the Air Force and excited to work alongside each and every one of you in the days ahead,” he said.

Det 5 plays a crucial role in ensuring personnel assigned to AFLCMC-Gunter are organized, trained and equipped, to support operations by providing what warfighters need, when they need it.
